second analysis!! already too....

Well with permission of~CallowLily of  deviantart.com, i'm writing of her newest piece:
http://CallowLily.deviantart.com/art/cover-me-in-tea-126906509
Called: Cover me in Tea

in all due respect of the artist's work i want to incorporate as much of what she speaks of her own artwork as she says: "press your pain against my skin and cover me in tea." and by this i want to base my analysis off of as much as i can...

I want to first say that i really only analyze symbolic pieces of work because if you don't look for the meaning in life then all you feel is empty space. In this piece, what might escape one's first glance is that of the keys that make up the bracelet-like entrance of the wrist and as well the key hole on the ring finger. As to being on the ring finger this represents that only the one she wants, she'll give the key to that which is hers. But of course, being on her wrist it means it's close to herself and hard to get to beyond her merely giving of it. i love the choice of hair color because it could say that she doesn't care about what other people say about her. the tea cup with an "x" on it could mean soooo much unfortunately and one translation of what it could mean is the simplistic view of finding a way there and it's the destination, but more so by the title and quote of the artist, she wants to put you into a view of it being as a sign of pain and hurt. The black dripping is what i can describe as the loss of a deep feeling of guilt either self inflicted or by the pain of loss. the fact of the heart being in the teacup means to me that although she ties to work off the pain, it lingers and holds her heart or emotions captive as seen by her facial expression of her life. The flower finds it's meaning as the guiding light or the point of counsel and truth in a time of hopelessness. Or maybe not so much hopelessness as much s confusion, and as being on her shoulder shows a somewhat of a conscience and friend-like attitude of being there when needed

hope what i said may be likened to what people think of it thank you again~CallowLily for letting me write of your magnificent work. :)

haha!!! first art analysis!!!

Art Piece: http://PearlIsabel.deviantart.com/art/Cecilia-s-Revenge-122104682

Well first off, by analysis, i don't mean it in it's negative light anyway!!! let's get into it then!! ^.^

I really thought as to what the art piece could mean since she obviously based it off the quote, "Sweet is revenge--especially to women.
- Lord Byron
so i thought to myself, "in what ways could this be true?" in truth, this piece is a marvelous example of symbolism which i am a great fan of. so breaking it down into several parts, the skull, the gash, the scorpion, and the strawberries.

THE SKULL:...
This is the most definitive portion of the piece in that skulls have always represented the darker side of life, or in essence death. as the quote goes, "revenge is sweet", it only goes to reason that possibly the reason the character in the art basks in silent victorious chant in that she now has become a free woman and is now in the grasps of her own self contentment. as shown by the bows on the skull she is both happy to say it was of her own accord and that in a way she flaunts it, although i shall explain the drop of strawberry later. the poison (as i assume) behind it, i believe stand in back because it is not the way success is given but how it is...savored, i think a better word for it. the pearls that lay all around it i merely say as the sweetness of a woman as she savors every bit of her time after what she may have done be it big or small.

THE GASH:...
Here is where i believe that i find my best enjoyment from this piece. Although as some would describe as possibly gruesome, i find utter enjoyment from what is symbolically expressed from the girl's perspective. As seen throughout her arms, you see several stitched up portions. From my view the pinky is possibly what could be seen as what might have happened during the relationship's beginning, a small incident that she brushed off or in this case, stitched up, the same with the wrist, more hurtful and brutal emotionally and a point where she cries for help but doesn't know where to call. Then something that happens even worse is seen by the one to the shoulder and a much harsher circumstance and finally, to the gash, right over the heart. the heart is treacherous and also the best thing ever made, and in this she has dealt with these things that happened to her but even though she might have had her revenge in some way, but it affected her and it's will take time to mend and until then she'll grieve in somewhat happiness as shown by the stuffing instead of blood. Blood represents oozing and despair, and she is no longer in this despair and  is trying to savor this but still has a hard time with her somewhat broken heart, because this is not quiiiite what she wanted to do but it's what made her happy then.

THE SCORPION:...
The Scorpion is probably one that is a little harder to describe with words in my opinion for some reason. The fact that it is black, shows that it means it is the entirety of the revenge aspect of this piece. In a point of reference back to what i said earlier, the character savors the success of her revenge, as shown by the slow enjoyment of the "string" that entwines the scorpion, but her facial expression says otherwise as she is sad and not enjoying it to the fullness that she could. As to why i have no explanation.

THE STRAWBERRIES:....
The strawberries are an interesting point to this artistic expression. I believe they bring a certain humanity and subliminal conscience to what the girl thinks. she savors and loves what she has done as shown by the sweetness of the strawberries, but the dripping of them represents a more darkness of the conscience and how although something can seem right, there's that nagging feeling and it can't be helped so much. the drop of the strawberries on the skull i believe symbolizes the guilt and shame of the conscience being spread upon the deed, whatever it may have been, i don't want to assume anything to leave this still open for commenting.

I would like to thank the artist~PearlIsabel for her contribution t the art world and i hope to see what everyone thinks of how i did on my first posted art analysis. :)
